Heating Your Home With Technology

“heatingtechnology”
We take advantage of technological advances every day in the cars we drive, the phones we use, and even the foods we eat! Aren't you ready to also take advantage of what technology can do to provide better heating services?

Whether you are concerned with finding a higher efficiency heater, a more affordable unit, or a heater that employs "clean energy," there is a heating system out there that is perfect for you!

Using The Sun’s Energy

Solar energy can be used to power your entire home. In fact, it's been said that the sun's light has enough energy that it could power every house on the planet! How is it harvested? Solar panels collect the light and convert it into electricity. Depending on how much power your panels can produce and how much heat you use, your solar panels could bring substantial savings on your monthly heating bill!

Using The Earth’s Energy

Renewable energy doesn't just come from the sun or wind anymore. Scientists have found a way to collect heat generated at the earth's core and channel it into usable energy for your home!

This renewable energy source is known as geothermal energy. Geothermal heating has been associated with monthly savings as high as 70% and is accessible almost everywhere across the united states!

How do Heat Pumps Work?

Heat pumps run on the straightforward premise of taking something from one space and moving it over into another area. To be specific, heat pumps move warm air, from the outside of your home into your home in colder months, and from inside your house to the outside during warmer months. Heat pumps are notable because they offer a legitimate alternative to central heating, and because they cost substantially less than traditional heating systems.

Old Fashioned Oil Heating

The first heat lamps invented were lit using oil, so burning oil for heat isn’t a new concept by any means. Modern oil heaters, however, heat the oil without burning it. The heat is then transferred from the oil to the metal exterior of the unit, then out to the surrounding air. While incredibly efficient, using an oil heater does require you to have a supply of oil on hand at all times to change it out.

Reliable Gas Heating

Gas heating has long been considered the most reliable and comfortable way to heat your home. Once the desired temperature is set, your furnace will take in cool air, bring it into a heat exchanger where the gas burner will heat it appropriately, then re-circulate it from a blower fan.

Gas furnaces are known to have high efficiency- as much as 90% of the energy used to produce heat for your home. Even lower quality gas heaters meet minimum efficiency requirements!

Why Install a Centralized Electric Furnace?

Electric central heating is probably the most common way Americans heat their homes today. These units are popular because they are relatively inexpensive to install and maintain and offer the convenience of being able to control the temperature of the entire house from a single thermostat. Electric heaters, like gas heaters, pull cool air from your home into a heating chamber, then expel the newly heated air back into your home.
